Update following Hurricane Ian: We are so very happy to welcome you back to Pine Cove! This condo is ready for rentals starting in October 2024. Temporary photos are current of post-storm condition, professional photos coming soon! The Pine Cove Boardwalk is still under repair and the completion date is still unknown at this time. Access to the beach from this unit and complex will be available through the public beach access at the end of Tarpon Beach Road (next door to Pine Cove).

Luxury is waiting for you with newly remodeled, updated unit, upgraded appliances, flat screen TVs and views from almost everywhere in the condo! Nestled on West Gulf Drive, you are conveniently located near shops, restaurants, bike paths and more! This small complex only offers 18 units, so you are sure to have peace and serenity throughout your stay!

Condo amenities include: 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms -- 1 King bed, 2 Twin beds, & a pull-out Queen sleeper sofa (sleeps 6), 3 Smart TVs (streaming only), WIFI available, shared community heated pool & hot tub, in-suite washer & dryer, fully equipped kitchen, BBQ grills, assigned parking (2 vehicle max), beach boardwalk. No elevators available. No Pets allowed. Bed linens and Bath towels included. This unit comes stocked with beach chairs, beach towels and an umbrella.

7 night minimum rental period is required. Pine Cove is a tobacco free, smoke & vape free property. This unit is non-smoking with a maximum occupancy of 6 people.

  The location was absolutely perfect. It's on Tarpon Bay Beach, which was calm, warm, full of shells, and not crowded. And it is a short bike ride to the grocery store. This location alone makes this unit very special. The balcony of this unit does not look at the pool with screaming kids, but instead at tropical landscaping which opens onto the beach. Another giant plus in my book since all I see is the natural beauty of the gulf!
  
  I loved dealing with Sanibel Vacations - they took care of us like we were their only customers. We rented bikes which were delivered to the unit and they helped us with a couple of issues along the way very efficiently.
  
  The unit itself:
  
  Pros:
  -The kitchen looked fresh with newer appliances and a very clean feel.
  -The balcony was the place we all wanted to be: great sunlight and views!
  - The master bedroom was spacious with a comfortable bed.
  
  Cons:
  - 2 flights of stairs, and the treads were so narrow, I fell once!
  - The floor tiles (though clean) are old/grimy and require replacement.
  - The bathrooms are super dated, and really require a remodel. Our master bath shower did not drain after our first shower (and I mean, it did not drain even hours later!), so Sanibel Vacations got someone over with Drano, and they got housekeeping over to clean the shower post-Drano. Then the hall bath tub/shower faucet wouldn't turn off while at the same time, the tub drain was draining super slowly! I know these rental units have to get cleaned up quickly between guests and people don't notice the maintenance, but yikes, this was stressful! It was early on Saturday morning and I called Sanibel Vacations' emergency line since the tub was about the overflow and flood the whole bathroom!! They told me how to shut off the water to the unit, and they came out to fix.
  - The sofa was tired, with stains on cushions.
  - We needed 6 dining chairs, and there are only 4.

We are sorry to hear about so many cons in the condo but we will definitely take them into consideration and take action right away. As im sure you can understand, the stairs leading to the condo are not something we handle, but we can pass that information along to the management company at Pine Cove. The master bath problem was handled as soon as we were notified and we appreciated your patience with us Saturday morning as we worked as fast as possible to fix it. I am glad we were able to offer you an 11am checkout so you could have an extra hour to shower, pack up, etc. We try to do everything possible to make our guests feel special and welcome all the time. We look forward to welcoming you back next year!

  Really a nice place. What you see in the pictures is what you get. Only minor downsides were the lukewarm hot tub and equally lukewarm grills. The latter were maybe good for making beef jerky, but not grilling a steak, but that is beyond the owner and management company's control
  
  One trivial thing we never brought to the management company's attention was that many of the lights, particularly in the bathrooms flickered pretty constantly. Obviously, not a big deal or we would have thought to call the management conpany.

  By chance I met the owner of Sanibel Vacations at our original condo as he was delivering a replacement bike we also rented from him. The unit we originally booked through another company was a complete disaster with major construction, a unit that was not prepared for our stay, multiple maintenance issues and ant infestation. The owner of Sanibel Vacations indicated he could help us out and after leaving the unit the next morning, we were put in one of Sanibel Vacations units, were handed the keys and completed the rental agreement the next day at out leisure. The owner was extremely caring about our situation and made us feel right at home. They definitely have new customer and I will recommend them to everyone who will need accommodations in the future. Thank you so much!!!

  Traveled with husband and grown daughter. Space was good for 3/4 adults. Great location that allowed us to bike many places and/or walk. This was our first time in Sanibel and loved it. The grounds of the property were very nice as was the pool area. The view from the screened in lanai was wonderful in fact we didn't feel the need to sit at the beach and took in the view from the condo.
  There has been a few updates inside the condo, however, the carpet is worn and needs to be replaced as does the tile floor. The A/C worked very well and were very comfortable as it was very hot/humid during our visit. We would definitely stay again at this property.

  When we arrived at the condo and opened the door, the view was breathtaking. The condo has all you need and more in the kitchen. The only negative about this condo is climbing the stairs when you arrive with your luggage and groceries. We will return to this little gem for a revisit.

  Love the condo and the island. Can’t beat the tropical feel that the island provides. Have enjoyed staying here for years however, this year there were some frustrating things such as a tree company that would arrive early every morning and waking up to the sound of chainsaws and wood chippers at 8 in the morning. Also, had to worry about my vehicle being brushed against with tree limbs that were being drug through the parking area. Along with this was the sight of trash scattered all over the parking area with water bottles and Gatorade bottles and snack wrappers laying around. And last, we were woken up before checkout time by housekeeping knocking on the door and trying to peak through and asking when we were gonna be leaving an hour before checkout time, this was an extreme invasion of privacy (peaking through the door window) and was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. We love pine cove but will probably look at other condominiums next year due to what was described above and also the public beach access next door is frustrating due to spots on the beach in front of the rental being taken.

  We love unit C and return each year. The only negative is no elevator but that’s only an issue on check in and out day when you have to carry luggage. The view is worth the stair climbing.
